The Spider to Appear on ESPN2s Cold Pizza
Revolutionary billiards product a hot item" on ESPN2s Cold Pizza.
Rocky Mount, NC (PRWEB) October 21, 2004 -- PrimeQuest Inc., the developer of The Spider, a new revolutionary billiard training and aiming device, announced that the products live, television debut was October 20, 2004 on ESPN2s Cold Pizza.
Cold Pizza airs weekday mornings on ESPN2 between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. The two-hour variety show offers its audience a unique blend of sports, consumer information, pop culture and lifestyle features customized to viewer's specific interests.
PrimeQuest is very excited about the support The Spider is receiving from the media and sporting industry," says Tony Davis, CEO of PrimeQuest, Inc. and inventor of The Spider. The product has already garnered a lot of positive attention, both from consumers and professionals. We are looking forward to an encouraging response from viewers of the show."
The Spider, which the BCA (Billiard Congress of America) has listed as a hot holiday item," will be featured along with other BCA products in a segment by Jamie Sorcher, the Gizmo Girl".
The product preview will include a live demonstration of the product and details on how consumers can pre-order the Spider in time for the holidays.
Jeanette Lee, better known as the Black Widow," one of the top billiards players and likely the sports most recognized player, endorses The Spider, as does 6-time world champion and ESPN commentator, Allen Hopkins.
The Spider was designed to tackle a problem that plagues many billiards players– visualizing and comprehending the relationship between the contact point and the aiming point. It uses patented laser technology and illumination to help players see the geometry of a shot, including the correct cue-ball path and aiming point on a shot.
The device was a major attraction among professionals and amateurs when it was recently showcased at the APA National Team Tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Photos available upon request.
ABOUT THE SPIDER:
The Spider is the worlds first pool trainer that teaches the four basic concepts of shot making:
The object ball spot (where to contact the object ball)
The target line (where to ball will travel)
The cue ball deflection line (where the cue ball will travel after contact)
The cue ball circle (what spot on the cue ball to use)
The Spider sits on the pool table and uses a series of pointing laser beams to show you the exact spots for targeting, hitting and setting yourself up for the next play. The patented invention uses laser technology and illumination to teach the key concepts of shot making while the person is playing, versus videos or self-helps books.
It is a fun, easy and fast way to become a better pool player, no matter the skill level.
Each Spider package comes a hard-shell carrying case, 4 AA batteries, two Spider clocks, and an instructional video commentated by Jeanette Lee and Allen Hopkins.

Food Chain Director Vance Malone Helps ESPN Get In Touch With Its Feminine Side
Agency Ground Zero lays the groundwork for ESPNs relationship-building towards women.
(PRWEB) March 23, 2005 -- Traditionally male-dominated sports channel ESPN reaches out to female viewers for the first time with a new spot from California agency Ground Zero. Directed by Food Chain Films Vance Malone, Changing" depicts two guys inspired to spruce up their sports bar to feel more inviting to women, but land slightly short of the mark. Subtly self-deprecating, the spot was created by Ground Zero Copywriter Tom OConnor and Art Director Jeff Lable with Creative Director Court Crandall and produced by Michelle Price with Food Chain producer Brad Goldthwaite and Executive Producer David Allen Cress. Shot by DP Joe Meade, the spot was cut to "It's Not Unusual" from Tom Jones and will air as a :30 and :60.
This was a great opportunity to work with a talented and creative agency," said Director Malone. Ground Zero created such a smart concept with solid characters that all I had to do was capture that on film." And, despite learning not to drive in the bus lane through a not-so-subtle nudge on his rental car from an annoyed Rose City bus driver during the scouting process, AD Jeff Lable remarked that shooting in Portland with Vance and Food Chain was a great experience… Vance really got the spot from the get-go and helped contribute valuable ideas."

This year, more than 800 entries were received from 16 countries including Austria, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Peoples Republic of China, Russia, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
To be selected by some of the worlds best communications specialists as the top work in public relations is a real honor, especially considering the hundreds of other fine agencies, corporations and non-profit organizations eligible for the awards," according to Witt.

A Spousal Trade? We'll Have It Made!
A short while back, I was at a restaurant enjoying dinner with some friends. At this particular restaurant there were lots of TV monitors, most of which were tuned to ESPN. Watching lots of athletic competition can really work up a thirst, so we were fortunate in that this particular restaurant employs an all female workforce clad in short shorts and tight tops. I quickly deduced that their ensembles helped them go to and from the bar with a minimal amount of wind resistance, which is a good thing as no one wants a slow waitress. Efficiency means profits in the restaurant business, you know.
Anyway, as we all sat around talking, the story about the trade of Los Angeles Lakers star Shaquille O’Neal to the Miami Heat came on one of the monitors. As is typical, when a big trade like this is consummated, there’s lots of talk about which team gave up what, who got the best of the deal, and what it will all mean in the future. And, right in the middle of that discussion, one of the guys in our group posed one of the greatest philosophical questions of all-time. It went something like this,
“Wouldn’t it be something if you could trade your spouse just like they trade the players on these pro sports teams?”
An intriguing question, huh? It was for me in that my mind just couldn’t let go of it. A couple of thoughts came to mind immediately, and I think that I‘ll take a moment and talk about them...
1. Most of us guys joke that if wives were like cars, we’d trade them in for newer models. It sounds funny and all, but the truth is that I happen to like the older models better. They’re plusher, better equipped, and a little preventative maintenance means that they can be driven forever. (I meant it a while back when I told you ladies that I like women with meat on their bones). Mature women are just my bag, I love ‘em, always will.
Another thing we middle aged guys would have to consider is that most of us would be run ragged by a twenty something year old woman. We obviously don’t want to admit that, but it’s true. We’d have to invest mucho dollars to pay for hair transplants, gym fees, and the wardrobe upgrades necessary to pursue a truly younger woman. Do we impending codgers really want to have to go through all that just for the right to conk out? The answer, I think, is a definitive “no.”
2. Most women also kid around that they’d love to trade in their current middle aged guy for a younger man. The only problem is that for them it’d work - all the studies conducted on this particular topic show that a woman hits her peak in her late thirties to forties, as opposed to us guys who hit ours in our late teens to mid-twenties. A middle aged woman who takes good care of herself could go out and get younger guys to follow her around all day long. Hey, I’ll admit to it right here and now - if a good looking middle aged woman had hit on me back when I was twenty, I would’ve dropped to my knees and given thanks for my good fortune. Look, it’s a young man’s biggest fantasy to enjoy a middle aged woman who’s willing to show them what life is all about. Heck, I get excited thinking about it even now, and I’m so old that the hair on my scalp doubled might make one full head of hair. I shouldn‘t even be thinking about this, but I guess we all have to let our minds roll around in the gutter sometimes.
So what do all these revelations tell us? For starters, we middle aged guys need to start kissing up to our ladies a tad more. Don’t get me wrong, we can all still like wrestling and NASCAR and Elvis, but we really ought to think about putting in a little more effort towards keeping our fine, mid-vintage women happy and satisfied. Let’s face it, making that effort would be a lot less painful than doing the hair transplant thing and having them pull those big plugs of hair out of your neck, or having to run ten miles a day in the gym in order to keep your gut toned down, or pretending to like salad with low cal dressing sloshed upon it three meals a day or.....

Compromised Positions
There is no denying that the sports business these days is awash in bright lights ...
Quite often, though, the same can't be said for the people or practices involved.
The passage of time, the fading of origins and the constant superseding of slang can combine to cause some curious contemporary contexts.
To start, have you ever really thought about how pedantic the word 'quarterback' is? When the innovators who metamorphosed rugby into gridiron football were telling players where to stand, it was only logical to have someone placed all the way behind the line called a 'fullback.' By then, soccer already had two defending positions which used that term, so they surely provided the acceptable sporting frame of reference. For the gridiron game's founding fathers to next place another player halfway between the fullback and the linemen and call him a 'halfback' made sense, too. But, perhaps they overdid this theme by sticking a third player halfway between the halfback and the linemen and arriving at the unfortunately obvious titling conclusion.
It only figures that such a mathematically correct --- but verbally clumsy --- location of a player would turn out to describe the most important position in the game. Any sports fan has heard that word a thousand times and surely doesn't think twice anymore about what it means or how silly it sounds. The rest of the salient world, though, is left to wonder what minds like those had named their kids.
On the other hand, the venerable game of cricket doesn't even think the word 'silly' sounds silly. Players' positions in that game are also defined by their location, and they actually have a series of spots called 'silly point,' 'silly mid-off' and 'silly mid-on.' In this case, it's truth in advertising. That's because they're placed so close to the batsman that solid contact from a full swing could result in serious bodily harm from a scorching line drive, which means that someone would have to be absolutely foolhardy to play there. Or, maybe just silly. (Just so you're aware that all cricketers aren't that crazy, the 'silly' locations are only occupied when the fielding team believes the batsman will only take defensive swings to protect his wicket.)
Certain topics just weren't discussed in public a century ago. So, a gridiron position like 'tight end' or a rugby position like 'hooker' never gave anyone a second thought. That was then. I'm assuming those athletes frame their conversations with non-fans more carefully now.
There are times when even the sports media should think deeper about their choice of words. Sports fans often have to do a double-take at headlines being thrust before them. Here's a recent offering from ESPN.com:
"Panel to Look at Claims Against Skeleton Coach."
While it might have been tempting to muse if the story was about some incident after a play was 'long dead,' only a hardcore Winter Olympics maven would recognize that a coach for the headfirst sledding events is in some sort of trouble. The sleighs involved in that discipline acquired the name 'skeleton' by a logic that was similar to that of the resultant term for putting a player a quarter of the way between the fullback and the center: the sled involved is literally a bare-bones equivalent of a bobsleigh or a luge, and the engineers must have gotten to it before the marketers did. Of course, if you've ever seen this sport in action, you could easily believe that its moniker was derived from what was left of an athlete if he ever lost control of his sled at 70mph.
Given the apparent discord between sports terminology and the perception of those same words and phrases by the rest of the world, it's not surprising that sometimes, ordinary words can be a cause of confusion to those who have spent their lives in the sporting arena.
In the late 1960s, two former gridiron football stars-turned-broadcasters --- New York Giants great, Pat Summerall, and Philadelphia Eagles receiver, Tom Brookshier --- were covering a game involving the Washington Redskins. At the time, those two were better known for socializing before the game than for preparing themselves for the broadcast. Brookshier, especially, seemed to depend on the depth charts and player profiles laid before them in the booth, rather than doing his own research.
During the course of the game, a kickoff came to a relatively unknown Redskin named Herb Mul-Key. He got a couple of key initial blocks, found a seam and scampered for a substantial return. It definitely warranted a comment from the analyst, which was Brookshier's role.
However, he clearly didn't know anything about Herb Mul-Key. All he could do was look for something of note on the player-bio card, and he thought he found something.
"I see," he announced, "that Mul-Key went to No-Knee College. I've never heard of that school."
Summerall's pause was extended. Finally, with subtle exasperation, he finally made the correction.
"I believe the word is 'None,' Tom."
Brookshire was truly a man trapped in sports. I guess that meant, to him, the cue card had something in common with the term for another rugby position:
It was a tight head prop.

The Greatest Sport On The Planet - Fastpitch Softball!
Welcome to the greatest sport on the planet - fastpitch softball.
Fastpitch softball now ranks near the top of team participation sports played in the U.S.. There is special appeal in fastpitch softball that has allowed it to steadily grow in popularity through the years. Once a person chooses to become involved in fastpitch softball, the sport seems to dominate their lives. I know it did mine, I pitched this game for 35 years, over half of my life was devoted to this sport! I pitched this game for 35 years, over half of my life was devoted to this sport! Starting from never having picked up a softball, to Regional most valuable pitcher, to our team finishing 7th in the nation.
I would rather watch a good exciting fastpitch softball game anyday, than a world series baseball game. Fastpitch softball games move faster, have more action, and you'll soon see how hard it is to hit that big old ball. The windmill motion of a fastpitch softball pitcher can send the ball to the batter at speeds equal to major league baseball pitchers. Now its pretty clear why it is hard to hit a fastball or a fastpitch softball: the batter doesnt have much time to decide!
Fastpitch softball is often characterized by a minimal numbers of runs, desperation drag bunts and delayed steals, just to score that winning run!
Due to the fact that fastpitch pitchers were so hard to find, another form of softball quickly emerged, slow pitch. Slowpitch softball, which does not require the dedication, or travel, or skill of fastpitch, became hugely popular and remains so even today. Most of the differences between fastpitch softball and slowpitch softball are designed to give the batters more dominance, and make fielding more important.
There is a vast difference between when I first started playing fast pitch softball, and todays players. When I started, back in 1958, we didn't have training videos, dvd's and cd's to show exactly how to pitch. We had to learn by trial and error, and hope we could talk someone into slipping us a few secrets of how they threw their rise ball or drop ball, or whichever pitch we wanted to learn. This is another reason for the shortage of decent fastpitch pitchers over the years, which led to slow pitch leagues being formed.
Today there is a video or dvd available that will teach you every phase of pitching, batting, coaching, and almost everything else you would want to know about playing this fantastic sport. How to be a power pitcher, how to throw a rise ball, how to throw a drop ball, how to throw a change up, how to throw a curve ball, and much more. Now anyone with the determination and desire, can quickly grasp the how to information and cut the learning curve down drastically!
For many new players just wanting to get into fastpitch softball, the place to start is getting involved in a local fastpitch softball league. Most major cities have fastpitch softball leagues, some even have both, mens and womens. Many local teams are looking for new players who have above average skills and some knowlege of the game of Fastpitch Softball.
Right here you need to decide whether you want to just play for the fun and exercise, or whether you are up to the challenge of serious competition in fastpitch softball. You will find both types of teams usually in your local leagues. It's a fun and competitive way to particpate in fastpitch softball.
Funding a "First-class" fastpitch softball program can be very costly. If you already have a fastpitch softball team, and looking for a good sponsor, you might want to consider car dealerships or companies involved in mining and exploration, as I have found both to be very receptive for sponsorships.
One last tip, for a new pitcher wanting to become an outstanding fastpitch softball pitcher is... Team up with an outstanding catcher, who knows the game, That will make you many times more effective!
Where fastpitch really shines, is at the college level... where womens fastpitch is a very competitive sport. You may have caught some of the games broadcast by ESPN showing tournament action.
Some people find the transition from recreational softball to fastpitch to be too intimidating, but don't let that happen to you!
You will be missing out on the thrill of a lifetime.

What You Didn’t Know About ESPN Magazine
ESPN Magazine formerly an abbreviation of Entertainment and Sports Programming Network, is published bi-weekly and owned by an American cable television network dedicated to broadcasting mostly sports-related programming twenty-four hours a day. The company was founded by Scott Rasmussen and his father Bill Rasmussen, along with Donny Stanley and his son Cardell and was first launched on September 7, 1979 with the show SportsCenter (which aired its 25,000th episode on August 25, 2002).
ESPN was originally owned by a prestigious joint venture between the Getty Oil Company (which was purchased by Texaco later on) and Nabisco. As of 1984, the entire family of ESPN networks and franchises are owned by ABC and the Hearst Corporation. ESPN was started as an alternative to standard television news broadcasts and the information that is usually found in the “Sports” sections of newspapers. It was begun as a fairly small-fry operation at first and they had to broadcast unorthodox sporting events such as the World’s Strongest Man Competition, the short-lived United States Football League (USFL) before ESPN landed a contract to show National Football league games on Sunday evenings in 1987.
ESPN the Magazine, like the industry leader in sports television that created it, is big, bold and brash like most of the athletes that it portrays and it uses its oversize format to show off very striking full page images and splashy sidebars. Contributors to the magazines include familiar on-air talent such as Dan Patrick, Chris Berman, Stuart Scott, Rich Eisen, Linda Cohn, Peter Gammons, John Clayton and many others (including the athletes themselves).
In comparison to other sports magazines ESPN gives you broader features such as playoff previews, personality profiles, photo spreads with a major emphasis on basketball, football, baseball, hockey, soccer and some newer extreme sports. ESPN mainly targets young, active men whose lifestyles include watching sports, attending games and participating in different types of athletics. The editorial focus of ESPN Magazine plays off the news and includes what happens in sports and which match-ups and young players to look out for. Also, ESPN emphasizes both the humor and fun of both mainstream and off-beat sports.

Tips On ESPN Fantasy Baseball
There are numerous ways to get involved with fantasy baseball and one of the most popular is ESPN fantasy baseball. Before you get started; however, there are several tips you should keep in mind in order to make your experience even better.
First, it is important to understand how ESPN fantasy baseball works. Really, it’s no different than any other type of fantasy baseball. The main idea behind it is for you as a team owner to draft professional players for your team. As the season goes on you will collect the real statistics generated by those players and receive fantasy points based on those numbers. In other words, when a real live player performs well in the real live world you gain more fantasy points. The more fantasy points you accumulate, the better chance you stand to become the winner among the rest of the teams. As the season unwinds, the team that manages to accumulate the most points will become the league winner.
With ESPN fantasy baseball you can have as many teams as you want. The glitch is that you’ll need to pay for each additional team. The first team is about $30; however, if you want to have multiple teams you can sign up for a multi-pack. If you at all think that you may want to sign up for more than one team, go ahead and do it all at once because there is a big savings advantage. For example, a five-pack costs only $69.96 as opposed to the $150 it would cost if you signed up for them separately.
Be aware that while this is fantasy football, ESPN takes the naming of the teams very seriously. This means that you cannot name your team something that would be considered objectionable. In other words, keep it clean; both the name of the team and the location. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to post on your personal profile. Here you can put text as well as images; however, the same rules apply. If you place something that is considered to be inappropriate here you place yourself in the situation of having it censored and in the worst case scenario you might even have your team taken away.
Be aware there are various types of leagues and teams so make sure you understand the difference before joining. With ESPN there are public leagues as well as private leagues. Unlike other fantasy baseball groups, with ESPN fantasy baseball you don’t necessarily need an invitation to join a private league but you do need the league name and password. Public leagues, of course, are open to pretty much everyone.
You should also know that when you first create your team it will be defaulted as an independent team. You can choose to keep your team as independent or not; the choice is up to you. If you stay independent; however, you won’t get to specify your draft day.
By understanding more about the inner workings of ESPN fantasy baseball you’ll be better prepared to get your team in line for the season victory.

How ESPN Deportes Saved My Life
I never knew the relationship I would develop with ESPN deportes would grow so strong. Who knew that a Spanish sports channel could do so much for a kid who grew up in Boise…
Anybody that has ever been to Boise, Idaho, knows that the city’s nickname, “City of Trees,” only applies to a 100 foot-wide section that follows the Boise River through the middle of the city. The rest of the city looks more like the set of a John Wayne movie – dry, sage-brush covered, and dry. So I felt right at home in the high mountain desert of Puebla, Mexico, where I lived for two years. Although I love being back in America, there are a few things I miss about Mexico. Here are four things I miss and a few of the things that make me feel better.
ESPN Deportes
Growing up playing soccer, I thought I was pretty hot stuff. In Mexico, I was mediocre at best. It was a pretty humbling experience the first time I played with a group of 12-year-olds and they literally ran circles around me. I’ll never forget the rush of standing in the middle of 45,000 ecstatic soccer fans singing in unison to support their team, which happened to be ranked last place in the entire country. You just can’t get soccer like that in America. In fact, you can hardly get any soccer at all. To watch the World Cup I had to wake up at 2:00am every morning, but I counted myself lucky because they were actually showing soccer on TV. For any soccer fans out there who are disappointed with regular TV’s offering of soccer games, you’ve got to check out ESPN deportes. Even if you don’t speak Spanish, the soccer coverage is worth it.
Mariachi Bands
I’m not much of a musician myself, so there is no way anybody would ever pay for me to dress up in a black, sequin-covered suit and sing at the top of my lungs to their loved ones. I miss the talented musicians in mariachi bands who wooed young lovers and venerated great-grandparents. Walking down the street on Valentine’s Day almost always guaranteed at least one free concert, and most nicer restaurants featured their own in-house bands. The only time I didn’t want the mariachi band to play in the restaurant was when my Camoteros were playing on ESPN deportes.
Fiestas, Pachangas, and Bodas
I lived in a town of only a couple thousand people, so everybody knew everybody. When someone got married, turned 15 years old, or had a new baby, the whole town was invited to the party. The colors, the music, and the sense of community are still vivid memories I won’t soon forget. My birthday party at Olive Garden with a few friends seems completely lame in comparison to even the smallest party I went to in Mexico. The town also had their annual celebration to venerate their favorite Saint, revolutionary hero, or Pope – and the food was always incredible.
Real Mexican Food
Since I moved back to America I have only had one meal that was close enough to authentic Mexican food that I could close my eyes and imagine I was still there. (In case you are wondering, it was not at Taco Bell.) Every tour book and travel agent will tell you to avoid eating food from street vendors when you’re in Mexico because you will most likely get sick. I would trade a week of Montezuma’s revenge for one good Taco al Pastor any time; and what I wouldn’t give to have a quesadilla not made from cheddar cheese. Unfortunately, state health departments regulate restaurants too closely to allow for any really good Mexican food here in America, so I’ll have to bide my time until I can afford a plane ticket back.
Good soccer, good food, good music, and good times. I grew up American through and through, but spending a few years in Mexico made me think that had I been born south of the border, I would have fit in just fine.

5 Reasons To Get ESPN Game Plan through Dish Network
Going to a college football game is an exciting time to be among a crowd of fans rooting for your team. However, not all games will be graced with the perfect weather for football. Not all games will be nationally televised. And not all times will you be down to go to a football game. For those reasons, you might opt to stay at home and watch the game on television.
That is when ESPN Game Plan comes to the rescue. With ESPN Game Plan, you will get access to games all over the country. Here are five reasons to get ESPN Game Plan for your home entertainment.
1.You live in North Dakota and your alma mater, UCLA is playing the University of Washington. Hundreds of college football teams play every Saturday and the odds of your former school playing on national television are slim. In-state rivals and top-ranked match-ups are the likely candidates for national airtime. With ESPN Game Plan, you are guaranteed 100 games that aren’t offered locally and chances are, your alma mater is one of them.
2.Traveling can be costly. If you live miles away from your favorite college football team, it may not be reasonable to travel every Saturday to be at the game. Transportation, food and hotel accommodations can add up quickly. Watching your favorite team through ESPN Game Plan will be the better alternative when it comes to saving your money.
3.Game preparations are time consuming. You are among the thousands of fans who will rush to get to the game and among a hoard of people hurrying home to avoid the congestion. Traffic to and from the game can add stress that you could do without. You’ll find your time valuable once you realize how much you could put toward other things like doing chores around the house or taking a much-needed nap.
4.Inclement weather? No worries for you! You remember those days when you stood through it all, in the rain, or in the snow while watching your team play. Now watching from home, you just observe the bundled up coaches on the sidelines or the crowd of umbrellas in the stands. You are grateful that you don’t have to endure the inclement weather and take comfort of watching the game indoors.
5.You can lounge on Saturday. Are there days when you just feel like being inside, staying in your pajamas and just lounging? If there were any day to do this, it would be Saturday, the day dedicated to college football. If you don’t want to watch alone, invite your close family and friends for a game party with food, fun and laughter. Take advantage of this downtime to relax inside and enjoy the game from home!

Bodog Battle of the Bands Finalist Will Perform at ESPN BASS 'Pride of Georgia' Tournament
The Mood, a Bodog Battle of the Bands finalist, will perform as pre-show entertainment at the ESPN BASS "Pride of Georgia" Tournament on Sunday, April 22 from 12-3pm.
Evans, GA (PRWEB) April 22, 2007 -- The Mood is excited to announce that they will perform as pre-show entertainment at the ESPN BASS "Pride of Georgia" Tournament on Sunday, April 22 from 12-3pm.
Made up of twins Cody and Chase Stringfield, Ian Ribble and Austin Peters, The Mood has found a successful balance between playing at charity events, festivals and shows, and attending school. Together for over a year, they have already defined their style, their sound, and made a place for themselves in the local independent musical landscape.
"Were pretty excited to have this opportunity to perform not only in our home town but in a venue close to our interests - boating and fishing", said bass guitarist, Ian Ribble. "Its even more special for Cody and me because our dad will fish in the tournament", adds drummer, Chase Stringfield.
The Mood conveys a funk rock blues sound that is reminiscent of bands like Jimi Hendrix and The Doors with a modern flair influenced by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Their slick brand of alternative blues rock is played with skill and precision, which is a pleasant and unexpected surprise for audiences since none of the members is more than 19!
The Mood is one of seventeen finalists out of 7,000 contestants for Bodog Musics $1 Million Battle of the Bands. The Mood bested several bands from the southeast region and qualified as the 2006 City Wide Warfare Winner in Atlanta. In January they traveled to Cleveland, home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, where the final elimination tour and shooting of the Bodog Music reality show begins and will air on Fuse TV in June.
What began as a high school senior project has guided four young men into a music career with not only a chance to visit six rocking cities - Cleveland, Memphis, New Orleans, Austin, Las Vegas and Los Angeles but also a shot at a $1,000,000 recording contract with Bodog Music.

ESPN the Magazine
Back in the day ESPN was merely space fodder for people with cable subscriptions; back when only the "real" sports fan (me) could sit in front of the tube and bear with the constant rambling of numbers and statistics. Oh it was great. Back before they offered a cheap magazine subscription that was nothing more then an extension to their online subscription service they offered through their website. These were the good old days.
No over-sized clowns spraying the screen with saliva as they scream a point that has already been beat to death by every other major sports media outlet. No silly Ebonics from Stuart Scott and his lowly attempts at integrating hip-hop lingo and culture with sports commentating. Back in the day Berman's sound effects, wit and satirical humor were actually pretty clever; they were fun, and stimulated conversation amongst the boys who played ball out front. Now your left with mainstream content, the "edge" is gone, the only thing that spews out of these writer's pens, and analysts mouths is sponsor-friendly garbage.
Can anybody take ESPN's content seriously anymore? Sportscenter was a morning ritual. ESPN the Magazine would have been a no-brain annual subscription; Peter Gammons and his sports monologues--to a diehard--were simply un-passable. Could you imagine how great their magazine's content would be without ESPN having to be handcuffed by their endless affiliates, and licensing partners? It would be nice to sit back and get the real opinions out of these analysts and writers. Honestly, its probably the only thing I miss about the 80's.
I don't want dummied down content from their discount magazine and their trashy over-sized recycled paper they call pages. I want opinions on how they really feel about a controversy in sports. As a long time ESPN fan it has become disheartening watching the network dive head first into homeplate only to have their nose busted by the Catchers shin-plates.
